2-page layouts...

I ditched 2-page layouts years ago...but for some reason, lately, I've been really into them again. I LOVE using page maps! The first layout I COMPLETELY copied from somewhere! I can't remember where (a blog? Scrapbook Trends?) But it was so beautiful, and I had all the pieces, that I couldn't resist!

This layout allowed me to share a ton of pics from Evan's horsey ride...and the Kraft accents made it "pop".

For the love...of Basic Grey

After schlepping carloads of my belongings from my parent's house to my new place, I was SO SICK of packing and unpacking that there was NO WAY I was going to load up my car again to go scrapping at the Hamburg Hideaway this weekend. So...for the FIRST TIME EVER...I down-sized. The only paper packs I took with me were my Basic Grey kits. I took some embellishments, and my Basic Grey alphas, but NO Thickers (those of you who know me know that is quite an accomplishment)!!!

I really think my weekend was more enjoyable because I wasn't overwhelmed with all my "stuff". Also, a lot of the Basic Grey lines coordinate with each other, so I could mix-n-match. Here are the layouts I created using my Basic Grey stash...

Some "old" Scarlett's Letter:

A mixture of Mellow and Max-n-Whiskers:

The new Wander line:

Masking and Misting!!!

So...my FAVORITE class at CKC a few weeks ago was the Masking and Misting class with Studio Calico. It's a completely different style of scrapbooking than what I'm used to, but I like the way it looks and I had fun creating with some Maya Mist. I created the layout below with mist and stamps, and then added stickers and a picture yesterday. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way it turned out!!!

Because I had so much fun creating the above layout, I decided to try my own design with some circle masks I had bought a long time ago. I used some Orange Maya Mist that I got in a kit from the Hamburg Hideaway. I really like the way this turned out too. I added some old Cosmo Cricket paper and Jillibean Sprouts.

One CRAZY week!

My VERY FIRST NIECE was born on Tuesday, August 3rd. Adalyn Elizabeth was a tiny little baby, and I got to visit her at the hospital just hours after she was born. The next morning I spent some time with my little monkey, Aiden. He LOVES to bounce around in pretty much everything. He's the happiest little boy and so much fun to play with!

After I left Aiden's house, I went to babysit my other nephew, Evan, since his Mommy and Daddy were still at the hospital. I spent a full 24 hours with him and had so much fun playing play-doh, eating popsicles, building a "jungle", and just being silly!

To top it all off, I took my best friend's 2 boys to go see Despicable Me. Such a GREAT movie! I loved it! And even though I was EXHAUSTED when I finally made it back home, I couldn't resist sitting down and cranking out some more layouts...

Oh Oliver!!!

So....over the weekend I fell in love with Oliver. You know! The new Oliver line from Basic Grey! I scarfed ALMOST every piece of product and dived right into it. I also found out that a lot of the colors in Oliver are similar to the colors in My Mind's Eye's Lil Robots (which I'm also in love with). Here's what I created so far...

Back from CKC!!!

As always, I  had a blast at CKC, Valley Forge. I had an entire 4 days of shopping, classes, fun dinners and scrapping with my girls. I haven't uploaded ALL my layouts yet, but here are some from my classes.

These two are from the Quick Quotes class that I took. All four of the layouts we created used the same papers and flowers. So far, I've only added pictures to these. I thought Evans outfit matched the papers pretty well, and the quote on the bottom layout goes so well with the pictures of Tabatha and her sweetie pie.

This layout was from Latest and Greatest with Basic Grey (even though nothing on this page is actually Basic Grey). BUT...scrapping birthdays can get kind-of boring since there are always so many pictures and it gets done EVERY year (just like Christmas). So this is a fun layout that I didn't have to think about and I could just slap the pictures on. Below are some close ups (still need to add the journaling):
Make sure you check out the Scrapbook Sussies blog today, too. I posted 8 (Yes! Count them. EIGHT!) layouts that I created using the August kit. It's chocked full of summer yummies from Bella Blvd's All Inclusive line and WeRMemoryKeepers 72 & Sunny kit.
