Scrapping Retreats

This past weekend I got together with a group of about 10 other women to scrap and have fun for the weekend. We've been getting together for about the last 5 years. It started in the summer for the CK Convention in Valley Forge, and we enjoyed it so much that we decided to meet every year in February, too. We get hotel rooms, a conference room, scrap, shop, go out for dinner, and have a great time talking, LAUGHING, scrapping, and just "getting away".

Our get-togethers are the only time I get to see some of these women and I really cherish the fact that we all have a love of scrapbooking in common and it has created some great friendships!

I also appreciate the fact that I get to be creative and productive...so here are some of the layouts I created over the weekend...

Scraptacular Blog Hop!

Thanks for hopping on over! Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I made sure I was wearing something red today and my students will be performing math lessons using Valentine's M&M's.

Although I didn't use Scraptacular's February kit for my layouts, I was able to use up some of my older Scraptacular kits. I LOVE using up older kits because that means there's more room to replace them with NEW product!

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my layouts or the kits they were created with. All comments made by 5:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, February 15th will be entered into a random drawing for a RAK.

Next stop on the Blog Hop....Beth!

2-page layouts...

I ditched 2-page layouts years ago...but for some reason, lately, I've been really into them again. I LOVE using page maps! The first layout I COMPLETELY copied from somewhere! I can't remember where (a blog? Scrapbook Trends?) But it was so beautiful, and I had all the pieces, that I couldn't resist!

This layout allowed me to share a ton of pics from Evan's horsey ride...and the Kraft accents made it "pop".

For the love...of Basic Grey

After schlepping carloads of my belongings from my parent's house to my new place, I was SO SICK of packing and unpacking that there was NO WAY I was going to load up my car again to go scrapping at the Hamburg Hideaway this weekend. So...for the FIRST TIME EVER...I down-sized. The only paper packs I took with me were my Basic Grey kits. I took some embellishments, and my Basic Grey alphas, but NO Thickers (those of you who know me know that is quite an accomplishment)!!!

I really think my weekend was more enjoyable because I wasn't overwhelmed with all my "stuff". Also, a lot of the Basic Grey lines coordinate with each other, so I could mix-n-match. Here are the layouts I created using my Basic Grey stash...
